REHAU Radiant Cooling

System Overview

REHAU Radiant Cooling  
Radiant cooling is an innovative approach to comfortable, high-efficiency cooling. It is most effective when installed in homes containing other energy reducing systems.
  • Cooling is more evenly distributed, and drafts can be eliminated
  • Pipes are imbedded in floors, walls or ceilings depending upon requirements
  • Requires air movement and dehumidification equipment as part of the system
  • Individual room temperature control
Radiant cooling works similar to radiant heating, with the exception of chilled water circulating through the pipes. Traditional chiller equipment or geothermal systems are viable options for the energy source.
  • Combination floor heating/cooling panels
  • Walls and ceiling offer additional choices for panel location
  • Systems require air movement (typically ducted) for proper dehumidification. Dehumidification equipment is also required.
  • Can be combined with traditional cooling as a ‘tempering’ system to cover off-peak loads
Radiant cooling systems can cover a multitude of cooling needs, and are most effective when installed in buildings incorporating other energy reducing strategies. Another option is the ‘dual’ system, consisting of a traditional cooling system for peak loads combined with radiant cooling.
  • Radiant systems are ideal in buildings or rooms where air quality is critical
  • Floor, ceiling and wall cooling panels can be used
  • Systems are most effective when placed in buildings containing other energy reducing building strategies
  • Proper dehumidification and air movement are critical design parameters for these systems
